Residential and Commercial Roofing- Bixby Roofers

Your roof isn’t only for keeping the weather out of your home or business, it is a major design feature. Residential and commercial roofing is our specialty at Roofscapes.

Residential and commercial roofing systems tend to use different styles and types of roofing because of cost, effectiveness and appearance. Most residential homes will use a roofing system that matches the exterior of the home, cost efficient, and has great curb appeal. For commercial buildings, roofs are chosen by cost efficient, the green effect, and longevity.

Although these roofing systems are used on homes and larger buildings for businesses, our residential and commercial roofing systems offer the same appearance, quality and effectiveness. It just depends on what the home owner or business owner is looking for.

Being a local roofing company in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, we want to provide the home owner or business a roofing system that fits their needs and expectations, especially with the strong winds and severe weather that the state receives.

We offer a variety of roofing systems such as metal roofing, slate roofing and asphalt roofing, along with some other roofing types. These three roofing systems are used the most within our projects due to the multiple features they provide:

  • Water resistant
  • Surviving high winds/ storms
  • Longevity
  • Natural, beautiful appearance
  • Fire resistant
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Affordable
  • Variety of styles
  • Easy installation

Along with these features of the three roofing systems, each roofing system has its own unique style and performance.

Metal roofing systems serve as a beautiful style of roofing for your home, while using the light weight material to help preserve the structure of your home’s life for a longer amount of time. This type of roofing is great for energy efficient ways such as keeping your home cooler without increasing the cost.

Slat roofing systems gives off that natural stone appearance to a home, while giving it the longevity your home deserves. Slate is also known for being one of the most fire resistant roofs to exist due to its tile material.

Asphalt roofing is the most common roofing system because of its affordable with the low upfront cost. There are a variety of styles to choose from such as 3-Tab, laminated and Premium, along with the various color options that you can imagine. Asphalt roofing is on the easiest side of installation because of our experienced and knowledgeable Tulsa roofing contractors.

Most residential and commercial roofing systems are becoming more attracted to the eco-friendly and cost efficient benefits because of utility and maintenance costs. Not as much waste is being used with some of these roofing systems, and some of them save more on heating and cooling costs.

Along with our residential and commercial roofing services, we provide roof replacements for old roofs that are worn out or just need a new appearance. We believe in installing new roofing systems on homes and not just new shingles. Your roof makes up 45% of your home, so make it last with these numerous features!

Roof Replacement- Reasons to get it replaced

It’s time to get a roof replacement if you’re placing buckets in different areas of your home.

There are many indicators that lead you to getting a roof replacement. Some of the major areas and reasons could be the roof’s age, buckling shingles, roof valleys, missing shingles or overall looks bad. Here are some reasons to get it replaced in more depth.

You roof may be hitting its old age

Just like anything else, your shingles and roof age too. The shingles on your roof could be hundreds of years for all you know. Well, that may be exaggerated a little bit, but roofs typically will last anywhere between 20 and 30 years before needing replaced. It depends on the type of roof that is supporting your home that needs replaced, such as an asphalt roof compared to a metal roofing. One of the most important aspects of getting a roof replacement is due from the ventilation. If your home doesn’t have proper ventilation, it could be from the way the roof was placed before you moved in. If your roof is over 20 years old, you might want to consider replacing it.

Buckling up is way safer than buckling shingles

If the shingles on your roof are buckling, this is a great indicator whether or not to have your roof replaced. Buckling shingles is typically caused from the sun’s direct sunlight. Depending on the slope of your roof, you can look at it and determine if the shingles are losing granules or not. Shingles could also be buckling or curling together from a heavy storm that has passed. Having buckled shingles can also indicate that your roof is defective. Whether your roof is old or worn out, we can replace it with asphalt, wood, slate, metal, concrete, or clay.

Roof Valleys

What are roof valleys? Roof valleys form when the shingles fall off or are deteriorating from multiple spots. The valley is one of the most important elements to your roof. Why? The valley is the where anything such as rain, snow or particles flow through the valleys and then into the gutters. If these valleys are not up to date, they could be what’s causing the leaking into your attic or home.

Missing Shingles and a bad look

Your roof makes up about 45 % of the visible appearance of your home, along with keeping weather out from your home. If your home is missing shingles throughout the rooftop, chances are you’re getting leaks within your home. Missing shingles also isn’t appealing from the curbside view. Along with the curb appeal when getting a new roofing system, you’ll want to consider the color and type of roofing to compliment your home’s exterior. The home’s exterior consists of the siding, walls, trim, guttering and shutters. Replace your roof to get rid of the missing shingles and give it an overall great look!

At Roofscapes Exteriors, our roof replacement can cover any of these issues with our high quality roofing systems that suits your needs.

Caution: Ice Dams

An ice dam is a ridge of ice that can build up and form at the edge of your roof. When snow builds up on your roof, the snow underneath will start to melt from the heat your house is creating. This meltwater will then run down to the eaves, and because eaves tend to be the coldest point on the roof, it freezes. Once this happens, meltwater will continue to run down the roof, and the ice will continue to grow due to the initial ice that froze in the eave of the roof. As the meltwater continues to drip with nowhere to go, a water backup will occur.

Standing water and your roof are never a happy mix. If you see this happening contact us right away for a free inspection.
